What ages is this box designed for?
Road Map 1: Designed for preschoolers (typically ages 3–5) who are ready to explore and learn letter sounds.
Road Map 2: Designed for pre-K and kindergarteners (typically ages 4–6) who have mastered letter sounds and are ready to begin blending sounds to read.
Note: Every child learns at their own pace. Many early learners benefit from the hands-on activities even beyond these ages.
How do the sounds cycle each month?
One box is produced each month for each Road Map and shipped on a continuous cycle, so you will not miss any boxes no matter when you start.
Road Map 1: Each month introduces four new letter sounds. Over seven months, children are introduced to the full set of foundational sounds. We then continue to a second rotation of boxes with new activities for extra practice, giving you up to 14 months of boxes. Once your child has mastered their letter sounds, you can switch to Road Map 2 at any time in your customer portal.
Road Map 2: Each month focuses on a new vowel and practices reading CVC words. Over five months, all vowels are introduced and mastered.
What comes in each box?
Every box includes:
- 20+ daily craft and game hands on activities with step-by-step instructions
- engaging work pages
- Weekly calendars for easy planning
- Rewards chart to track progress
- Monthly materials zipper pouch with supplies used every month
- All materials included —just open and go (except scissors due to liability)
Do I need to get a Starter Kit?
Road Map 1: You do not need the start kit in order to do the subscription boxes. However, it is highly recommended to get at the start of the program. The Starter Kit includes flashcards and essential tools to help you organize and track your child’s reading journey—plus the core materials we recommend using each day to significantly boost learning progress. The subscription box is a supplement to the starter kit.

Do I need to buy extra supplies?
Nope! Everything you need is included in the box (except for scissors due to liability purposes). If you’d like, you can purchase our optional starter kit for extra tools like flashcards, trackers, and reusable supplies.
Do I need to order the box each month?
No need! Once you subscribe, your box will arrive at your door automatically each month. Just sit back and enjoy the fun.
What if I miss a day or fall behind?
No problem! The activities are flexible. You can go at your own pace and catch up whenever it works for your family. We don't recommend pausing or you wont get the letters you missed those month.
Can I start any time of year?
Yes! Our boxes are designed to be used in any order, so you can start the program at any time.
Is this box appropriate for children with learning differences?
Yes! Our paced, multi-sensory, hands-on approach works well for a variety of learning styles and is great for children who benefit from repetition and visual learning.
Can I use this with more than one child?
Activity pages, worksheets and craft materials are made for one child.
How long does each activity take?
Most activities take about 10-15 minutes, perfect for short attention spans and busy schedules.
Do you offer subscriptions or one-time purchases?
Yes, we offer both!
Will there be a Step 3 Box to learn to read?
Yes! We are planning on launching a step 3 box with beginner reader books and a program to learn blends and "magic e" that will be released this summer
What if I’m not a teacher? Will I know how to teach the sounds?
Absolutely! Our parent guide gives you simple, clear instructions and helpful tips—no teaching experience needed.
What if something is missing from my box?

How do I manage my subscription?
You can manage your subscription anytime by logging into My Account, where you can pause, cancel, or update your subscription. If you need help, feel free to email us anytime at hello@missdebbie.co
Will my subscription automatically stop after I get all of the sounds?
We want everyone to enjoy the full reading journey, so your subscription will continue until you choose to opt in to the next level of boxes, at which point it will pick up from there.
If I pause my subscription will I still get the boxes I miss?
No, you will not automatically get the boxes you miss. For this reason, we highly discourage pausing your subscription. Because our program runs on a continuous monthly cycle and only ships one box per month, skipping a box means you won’t have the opportunity to receive that month’s content again until it comes back in the cycle. You’d also need to keep track of when that box comes back around, which can make reordering more difficult and makes it difficult for us to track when you have finished all of your sounds and are ready to be moved up to our level 2 boxes.
Can I send this as a gift?
Yes! You can send the subscription box directly as a gift — or, if you’d prefer the recipient to manage their own account and delivery, you can send a Miss Debbie’s Digital Gift Card instead.
